We went to Aqualibi: from the highest highs, to the lowest lows

Something Fleur and I discovered about each other is that we both like to swim. No, not your basic swim from one end of the pool to the other. I’m talking about the wild waves and exhilarating slides that make you question your life choices (yes, I did that at one slide!), and okay, okay, we sometimes go to a spa and chill a bit, but let’s be honest, nothing beats the adrenaline running through your veins while stepping closer and closer to a slide. I remembered this one park I visited when I was younger, and despite the fact that I had bad memories about it, I surprised Fleur with tickets to go there. Buckle up for our review filled with screams, questioning life, and laughter.

(note: we we’rent able to record a full vlog since it was not allowed to take our insta360 on the slides, due to safetly)

Drops, twists and a whole lot of screams

The slides we did

Banzai

This was one of the first “special” slides we did and I can assure you, this one was loads of fun . as we got our 2 space seating , Björn started to be ghost white, realizing he got a full first view since he sat in front. and then the drop came. The craziest thing and probably the coolest is the fact this slide doesn’t only get you down, noooonoooo it also drags you back up together with a shower of water that comes right in your face, so you don’t realize a new drop is nearing. after this slide Bjorn and I were flabbergasted and questioning how a slide can even bring you back up.

Pomokai

This is a slide Fleur and I will talk about for the upcoming years. It started as joking around about the fact that almost no one was standing there in a queue, but my laughter slightly disappeared when I noticed that the staff even had cameras in the slide….. and let’s face it, security cameras in a slide don’t seem like a “normal descent slide.” And then it was our time; there was this buoy where Fleur had to sit in the back, while I had to sit in front…… yes, the perfect location for someone who is claustrophobic and not used to attractions……. I can assure you I was asking myself questions, but there was no turning back. Once in the buoy, we had to sit down and wait ……. and wait…. until the lights went green…. with the first issue to get started, we started off at a very slow speed. Ideal for me since I lowkey hoped for a jolly fun ride…… but this Pomokai may have a cute name; it’s in fact a cruel animal that is ready to rip you apart because at a certain point I didn’t see any track in front of me anymore. Yes, my friends, this cute little slide has a drop of almost 40-45 degrees, before getting into the funnel. And the drop went hard, to the point I even felt the collision between the ground and buoy on my butt. While I was trying and focusing on surviving in the funnel, I heard Fleur scream and, truth be told? I even didn’t listen to her because my goal was easy: surviving this slide. Fortunately, once you get out of the funnel, the ride is almost over. Once I saw the ground again, I almost kissed it, and Fleur and I decided to take a breather…… because this slide ??? really is a gem. Overall, we would do it again, but we can assure you that the first time on this slide is a real experience.

Rapido

This is a fun experience! You can think of this slide as rafting without a raft, powered by motivation alone. It’s intense, but not in a thrilling way—more like feeling exhausted after 5 hours at the gym. At times, it’s tough to move to the next point because you might bump into other people. But it’s a lot of fun, and everyone tries to help each other. I was sad when Fleur and I got separated because a wave pulled me away from her. We ended up holding each other’s feet to make sure we could both make it down together.

Flash

While Björn was still recovering from the Pomakai, I decided to chase a bit more adrenaline. The Flash seemed perfect for that. This slide is short but powerful.
You lie down, feel the cold water rushing beneath your back, and before you know it, you’re already speeding down. The round blue lights inside give it a cool, almost futuristic effect.
Before I knew it, I was already at the bottom. A simple slide, maybe, but definitely fun to try!

Waikiki

I hesitated for a moment about going down this slide. On the way up the stairs, I even thought: should I go back down? But I decided to go for it anyway. I didn’t want to lie in bed that evening thinking, damn, I should’ve done the Waikiki.
In the end, I can honestly say this slide is super fun! It’s not as fast as the Pomakai, but that actually made it nicer. I came out a lot less shocked. It brought a huge smile to my face. After a small drop, you immediately end up at the outdoor section, which was so cool!
If you like speed but not the extreme kind, the Waikiki is definitely worth sliding down!

Overall

Aqualibi truly is one of the coolest waterparks we’re been to, and even though you can’t eat your own food inside or drinks, it’s still a blast to go to. yes the prices are expensive but Yes, you’ll end up being there for hours, I mean really if we didn’t had a long travel back, we would have been there to the bitter end.
